剧情：
冬天，一只雪豹闯进了一家牧民的羊圈，咬死了九只“小牛犊子”一样的羯羊。因此，牧民父子争执不下：大儿子金巴（金巴 饰）坚持要打死这只雪豹，父亲（洛桑群培 饰）却要执意放生，小儿子“雪豹喇嘛”（才丁扎西 饰）得知此事，带领一组电视台记者前往采访报道，并牵引出多方的冲突与争执。从信仰和法律角度出发，众人督促金巴释放雪豹，一场生存与规则、执念与放下的探讨由此展开。在遥远的过去，一只还未成年的雪豹跳进羊圈里，咬死三只羊后被抓获，却被还未出家的“雪豹喇嘛”放走； “雪豹喇嘛”出家后，在山里闭关修行365天，迷失在山林间将要死去时，却遇到了当年被他放走的雪豹……
